LYNWOOD residents – bring your over-sized and bulky waste for disposal – FREE of charge – on Saturday, April 19 from 8am-2pm at the corner of Bellinger and Butler.  A valid photo ID and current copy of WR trash bill are required to participate. Acceptable Items – furniture, appliances, yard waste, fluorescent light tubes and bulbs, televisions, computers, other electronics, wood waste, and single items that can be handled safely by two people. Glendale to Host Four Compost Giveaways in 2025

The City of Glendale hosts free compost giveaway events throughout the year for its residents. In 2025, events will be on March 8, April 5, September 13, and October 11.  All events are at the Lot 30 Parking Lot at 1255 N. Verdugo Rd from 8am-12pm, rain permitting. The enrollment period for Carson’s senior discount will start on April 15, 2025. Because trash is charged on the property tax bill, you must participate in this annual enrollment process in order to receive the discount. Renewals must be postmarked by May 15, 2025. New applications must be postmarked by May 31, 2025.  Any renewals/applications postmarked after these dates may not be accepted for the 2025-26 tax year. 2024-25 Holiday Tree Recycling Dates Set

We make it easy for all residents to recycle their tree.- Place your tree curbside the same day as your regular service. For multi-family with bin service, trees can be left in the enclosure area.- Remove all decorations (ornaments, tinsel, etc.) and metal or plastic plant stands (wooden tree stands may be left on the tree). Flocked trees are okay.- Do not place your tree in a bag.- Trees over six feet (6′) tall  (7′ for Gardena residents) must be cut in half. Trees will be picked up on the following days, on your regular service day, starting December 26, 2024

Semi-Annual Cleanup Starts in Gardena on Sept. 28

Beginning in September 2024, Waste Resources (WR) will be offering Gardena residents another chance to dispose of unwanted bulky items free of charge.   WR will collect unwanted materials on one day over five Saturdays at the curb.  If your regular service is in the alley, your bulky items need to be placed at the curb, not in the alley.  A resident’s day will correspond to their regular collection day: If your normal trash day is… Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Then your cleanup day is… Sep. 28 Oct. 5 Oct. 12 Oct. 19 Oct. 26 Gardena residents are still eligible

Carson Clean Environment Week – Fall 2024

FOR CARSON RESIDENTS ONLYCelebrate America Recycles Day (Nov. 15) early this year by recycling your old electronics – computers, TVs, copiers, VCRs, cell phones, DVD and Blu-Ray players, and microwaves – and commit to caring for the environment on October 19, 2024.
