FOR CARSON RESIDENTS ONLYCelebrate Earth Day by recycling your old electronics – computers, TVs, copiers, VCRs, cell phones, DVD and Blu-Ray players, and microwaves – and commit to caring for the environment on April 20, 2023. Glendale to Host Four Compost Giveaways in 2024

The City of Glendale hosts free compost giveaway events throughout the year for its residents. In 2024, events will be on March 9, April 13, September 14, and October 12.  All events are at the Lot 30 Parking Lot at 1255 N. Verdugo Rd from 8am-12pm, rain permitting. Coming Soon! 2024 Carson Senior Sign Ups

The enrollment period for Carson’s senior discount will start on April 15, 2024. Because trash is charged on the property tax bill, you must participate in this annual enrollment process in order to receive the discount. Renewals must be postmarked by May 15, 2024. New applications must be postmarked by May 31, 2024.  Any renewals/applications postmarked after these dates may not be accepted for the 2024-25 tax year. Semi-Annual Cleanup Starts in Gardena on March 16

Beginning in March 2024, Waste Resources (WR) will be offering Gardena residents another chance to dispose of unwanted bulky items free of charge.   WR will collect unwanted materials on one day over five Saturdays at the curb.  If your regular service is in the alley, your bulky items need to be placed at the curb, not in the alley.  A resident’s day will correspond to their regular collection day: If your normal trash day is… Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Then your cleanup day is… Mar. 16 Mar. 23 Mar. 30 Apr. 6 Apr. 13 Gardena residents are still eligible

2023-24 Holiday Tree Recycling Dates Set

We make it easy for all residents to recycle their tree.- Place your tree curbside the same day as your regular service. For multi-family with bin service, trees can be left in the enclosure area.- Remove all decorations (ornaments, tinsel, etc.) and metal or plastic plant stands (wooden tree stands may be left on the tree).
