Two Workshops for Gardena Businesses This Summer

Waste Resources, along with the Gardena Valley Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting two workshops for businesses and multi-family managers/owners to discuss the state’s new-ish recycling requirements.  Since Jan. 1, 2022, all residents, businesses, and multi-family properties are required to recycle their organic and dry material.  WR’s three-container system makes compliance easy.  Plus, dry recycling service is available at no additional cost in Gardena. Semi-Annual Cleanup Starts in Gardena on March 16

Beginning in March 2024, Waste Resources (WR) will be offering Gardena residents another chance to dispose of unwanted bulky items free of charge.   WR will collect unwanted materials on one day over five Saturdays at the curb.  If your regular service is in the alley, your bulky items need to be placed at the curb, not in the alley.  A resident’s day will correspond to their regular collection day: If your normal trash day is… Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Then your cleanup day is… Mar. 16 Mar. 23 Mar. 30 Apr. 6 Apr. 13 Gardena residents are still eligible

2023-24 Holiday Tree Recycling Dates Set

We make it easy for all residents to recycle their tree.- Place your tree curbside the same day as your regular service. For multi-family with bin service, trees can be left in the enclosure area.- Remove all decorations (ornaments, tinsel, etc.) and metal or plastic plant stands (wooden tree stands may be left on the tree). Rate Increases set for July 1

ALL CUSTOMERS:  Per the terms of our Franchise Agreements with the cities of Carson, Gardena, Glendale, Hawaiian Gardens, and Lynwood, WR is permitted to adjust customer rates by certain metrics and indexes, effective July 1 of each year.  Based on these metrics, WR’s customers will be seeing new rates effective July 1, 2023. Waste Resources, with the City of Gardena, will be hosting another workshop for residents to discuss the state’s new-ish recycling requirements.  Since Jan. 1, 2022, all residents, businesses, and multi-family properties are required to recycle organics and dry material.  WR’s three-container system makes compliance easy.  Learn how to take advantage of your containers and help the City comply with state mandates.
