2022-23 Holiday Tree Recycling Dates Set

We make it easy for all residents to recycle their tree.- Place your tree curbside the same day as your regular service. For multi-family with bin service, trees can be left in the enclosure area.- Remove all decorations (ornaments, tinsel, etc.) and metal or plastic plant stands (wooden tree stands may be left on the tree). Residential Food Scraps Recycling Starts in Gardena on July 1, 2022

Waste Resources, the City of Gardena’s franchised solid waste hauler, is continuing the rollout of mandatory organics recycling by announcing the start of residential mixed organics recycling on July 1, 2022. This improvement to the city’s overall residential recycling program is a result of statewide regulations that went into effect January 1, 2022 and are slowly rolling out across California.  These wide-reaching regulations set statewide targets to reduce organic waste disposal and increase edible food recovery to serve the food insecure. Hawaiian Gardens to Receive New Residential Carts

Residents in Hawaiian Gardens will soon be receiving new carts to replace the ones in use since WR took over the solid waste franchise in November 2019. This cart exchange is part of the recently amended franchise agreement between the City and WR. Delivery of the carts will begin June 15 and continue each Wednesday through July 6. Services will not be interrupted during this time. Residents should do the following: Set out all old carts on collection day until they are removed. If not exchanged by 6:00pm, set them all out again the following week until they are exchanged.

Lynwood Adds Blue Cart Recycling Service

To meet the requirements of new California regulations (SB 1383), customers in Lynwood will start seeing improvements to recycling programs over the next year. Carson Rate Increase

CARSON CUSTOMERS:  Per the terms of the Franchise Agreement, WR is permitted to adjust customer rates by the CPI using March-to-March indexed values, effective July 1 of each year.   The total rate change, effective 71/1/22, for residential customers is $1 or less per month.
